Asheville, N.C. – Sept. 25, 2019 – Cargill Protein, Wichita, Kan., was recognized as the International Packer Marketer of the Year by the Certified Angus Beef ® brand. The award was presented at the brand’s Annual Conference, held Sept. 23-25, in Asheville, N.C. Brand partners at the conference, including meat processors, distributors, chefs, retailers and cattle ranchers, explored merchandising and marketing solutions to satisfy growing consumer demand for great-tasting beef.

To earn the international marketing award, Cargill worked closely with retail and foodservice customers in Canada and Mexico to ensure their success with top-quality beef. A training with customers at the Certified Angus Beef ® Culinary Center helped to guide grocer success in marketing and product merchandising in the meat case. Cargill also supported foodservice distributors by sharing the branded beef products at food shows. Through focus on product quality, training and marketing, Cargill also earned the Top Sales Volume International Packer award.

Additionally, two Cargill locations were recognized with Million Head Certified awards for cumulative number of carcasses certified for the brand since their first days as participating fabricators. Cargill in Schuyler, Neb., achieved the 5 million level at the fastest rate of growth, and this year, it recorded the highest increase in percentage of Angus-influenced cattle qualifying for the brand. Cargill in Dodge City, Kan., excelled at identifying, certifying and marketing more beef to achieve the 3 million level. Cargill plays an important role in educating the brand’s food customers about the product’s quality.
