The award was presented at the brand’s Annual Conference, held Sept. 23-25, in Asheville, N.C. Brand partners at the conference, including meat processors, distributors, chefs, retailers and cattle ranchers, explored merchandising and marketing solutions to satisfy growing consumer demand for great-tasting beef.
At Del Monte, the team is in tune to delivering the consistent, quality products chefs require for center of the plate, and offers a wide selection of the branded beef fresh cuts, including Certified Angus Beef ® brand Prime and Certified Angus Beef ® brand Prime Natural. They work hand-in-hand with chefs on specific cuts and beef aging to exact specifications, often in Del Monte’s own culinary center.
“Having a culinary center at the facility is absolutely huge,” says Rollie Stover, vice president of business development. “We’re able to cut, cook and eat product right on the spot.”
Training is equally important to the Del Monte sales team. The branded beef is included as an educational topic at every sales meeting and in promotions, allowing the team to grow the personal relationships they have with customers by delivering real solutions to their kitchens. Trainings have included hands-on cutting, so the team members understand the qualities of each beef cut, as well as insight on timesaving beef items for the menu.
Customers look to Del Monte for beef menu items that are top quality, economical and impress guests consistently. This year, the company focused on introducing local chefs to Certified Angus Beef ® brand Prime.
