Josh Moore, executive chef of Louisville’s famed Volare Italian Ristorante, showed off his culinary chops and bested the competition on Food Network’s popular “Chopped” competition. Known for his farm-to-table ethos – he’s a farmer in addition to his role in the kitchen – Moore makes no bones about his love for big flavors, including the Certified Angus Beef ® brand cuts he’s featured on his menu since 2012.

“I could absolutely talk about my commitment to Certified Angus Beef ® for 40 minutes [with no time to prepare],” he recently told Insider Louisville. “The consistency in their product is amazing.”

Despite not having the opportunity to prepare beef on “Chopped,” Moore excelled with the mystery baskets of ingredients given to him – all with a “Deadliest Catch” seafood theme.

“There wasn’t any more time to be nervous as soon as that basket was opened up,” he said.
