Animal care is a priority on farms and ranches everywhere, and it’s the most basic foundation for raising high-quality beef to meet the specifications of the Certified Angus Beef ® brand.

As the brand strives to increase demand for quality beef and return more value to the family farmers and ranchers who supply it, Certified Angus Beef recognizes the need to link consumer expectations for animal care and sustainability with the efforts cattlemen are putting forth. Kirsten Nickles, Ph.D. (pictured) joined the Certified Angus Beef team as the brand’s sustainability and animal care scientist leading a data-driven approach to sustainable beef conversations.

“When I think of the Certified Angus Beef ® brand, I think of the integrity of a wholesome product,” Nickles says. “Cattlemen and women care about how they raise beef and they care about ensuring product integrity all the way to the consumer’s plate.”

The addition of Nickles’ expertise allows the brand to provide added resources for partners seeking to meet consumer demands for more information about how the product gets to their plate.
