Retailer Food City Marks 100 Years

Food City’s focus on upgrading the shopping experience while keeping a local, friendly feel has grown customer loyalty and led the retailer to mark 100 years in business. With stores in Kentucky, Virginia, Tennessee and Georgia, Food City stands as one of nation’s largest independent grocers and a leader in fresh meat and seafood merchandising.

“We’re really focused on servicing our customers and making them feel welcome when they come in the door,” said Steve Holloway, director of meat, seafood operations. “Certified Angus Beef ® product is our No. 1 beef offering. Not only do we have the best customer service, but we’re also selling a premium product, and I think that really sets us above everyone and will continue to do so in the future.”
