Tyson Fresh Meats recognized for excellence in beef
Asheville, N.C. – Sept. 25, 2019 – Tyson Fresh Meats, Dakota Dunes, S.D., was recognized as the Packer Marketer of the Year by the Certified Angus Beef ® brand for leadership in product quality, marketing and sales. The awards were presented at the brand’s Annual Conference, held Sept. 23-25, in Asheville, N.C. Brand partners at the conference, including meat processors, distributors, chefs, retailers and cattle ranchers, explored merchandising and marketing solutions to satisfy growing consumer demand for great-tasting beef.
Tyson Fresh Meats focused on delivering Certified Angus Beef ® brand products, growing its presence in the marketplace. The company achieved the highest overall increase in branded sales among the brand’s participating fabricators. Tyson procured high-quality Angus cattle, merchandised it with brand identification, and supported customers in foodservice and retail. Additionally, the company excelled at producing Certified Angus Beef ® brand Natural. Tyson plays an important role in educating the brand’s food customers on the product’s quality.
Additionally, Tyson claimed three spots among the Top Five Fabricators. The Dakota City, Neb., location was recognized as the No. 3 Sales Volume Fabricator and excelled in offering Certified Angus Beef ® brand Prime. Rounding out the category were the Tyson Joslin location in Hillsdale, Ill., at No. 4 and a new entrant to the category, at No. 5, Tyson Finney County, Holcomb, Kan.
Three Tyson locations received Million Head Certified awards for cumulative number of carcasses certified for the brand since their first days as participating fabricators. The Dakota City location was recognized for 5 million certified, with Lexington, Neb., at 4 million certified and the 25-year partner located in Amarillo, Texas, at 2 million certified.
