WOOSTER, Ohio – Feb. 28, 2019 – Neil Johnson, the Certified Angus Beef ® brand specialist at Sysco Montana, received the Specialist of the Year award from the beef brand. Presented at the beef brand’s annual Foodservice Leaders Summit, the award recognizes a specialist who excels in sharing beef quality, training, menu and marketing solutions with his team and chefs.
“Sysco Montana, for its size, is the top middle-meat house among our broadline distributors,” says Steve Ringle, the beef brand’s director of business development and analysis. “By offering a great balance of middle meats, end meats, grinds and value-added products, Neil leads the team to find the best choices for each customer. It’s a big reason Neil is doing a phenomenal job.”
Johnson further excels at motivating and supporting the Sysco Montana sales team out in the field and offering meaningful trainings to advance the group’s beef knowledge. The sales team then helps chefs understand and appreciate premium beef, so their customers can enjoy great-tasting beef entrées. Additionally, Johnson works closely with the brand’s marketing and brand assurance staffs to identify the best tools for customers and ensure proper identification of beef cuts on menus.
“Neil has truly taken the ball and run with it as a real champion of the Certified Angus Beef ® brand,” said Steven Bodden, president at Sysco Montana. “Not only is this evident in the commitment of both he and partner, Parker Aldrich, but their passion has spread throughout the team.”
Johnson was chosen among the brand’s specialists throughout the United States and 50 other countries.
“I’ve had the opportunity to work with several specialists and Neil Johnson is definitely one of those that stands out,” says Gale Rhoads, the beef brand’s executive account manager. “His customers see that passion him. His sales team sees it, too.”
