Just 18 companies in Ohio, including Certified Angus Beef LLC, received the 2019 gold-level Healthy Worksite Award from The Healthy Business Council of Ohio (HBCO). The award recognizes Ohio employers who demonstrate a commitment to employee wellness through comprehensive worksite health promotion and wellness programs.

“Our employees are the heart of our business,” says Pam Cottrell, executive vice president of people and culture for the brand. “Taking care of them through comprehensive wellness, training, safety and health programs fosters the best possible care for our customers, from family farmers and ranchers to grocery stores and restaurants.”

Applicants for the HBCO recognition are scored objectively on the extent that their wellness programs facilitate and encourage employee health, enhance productivity and ensure a healthy work environment.

“This year’s application was more comprehensive than past years as we worked to better align our assessment with the national CDC Worksite Health Scorecard,” explained Annie Laurie Cadmus, award co-chair. “Worksites recognized this year should be especially proud of their accomplishments knowing they have provided their employees with nationally competitive and well-rounded programming that supports healthy lifestyles.”
